Security & data protection

Security, hosting and data protection

A procurement-focused overview of how AsbestosSurveyPro protects customer and survey data — written for housing providers, asbestos consultancies and compliance teams reviewing the platform.

Data security overview

AsbestosSurveyPro is designed for professional asbestos surveying and compliance teams. Customer data, survey records, photographs and generated PDFs are handled inside a managed cloud environment with role-based access, transport-layer encryption and at-rest encryption applied by the underlying platform.

Cloud hosting

The platform runs on managed UK/EU cloud infrastructure operated by enterprise-grade providers. Compute, storage and database services are deployed inside the provider's regional infrastructure with the provider's standard physical-security, network-isolation and operational controls.

User authentication

Access is gated by email-based authentication with secure session handling. Organisation owners control who joins their workspace, what role each member holds and which surveys they can see. Admin operations are scoped to verified administrators only.

Encrypted connections

All traffic between the browser, the platform and the backend uses HTTPS with modern TLS. Authentication tokens are transmitted only over encrypted channels and are never stored in clear text.

GDPR statement

Personal data is processed in line with UK GDPR and the Data Protection Act 2018. We process only the data needed to deliver the service (account, organisation, survey, evidence, audit). Data subject requests, data export and account deletion are supported on request.

Data ownership

Customers own their data. Survey records, evidence and generated PDFs belong to the originating organisation. Data is used to provide the service to the customer and is not sold, traded or used to train third-party AI models.

Backup & resilience

The underlying managed database performs automated backups with point-in-time recovery. Generated PDFs and uploaded evidence are stored on redundant cloud object storage. The platform is designed to recover from common infrastructure failures without customer-visible data loss.

Operational controls

Application changes are tracked, deployments are auditable, and access to production data is restricted to a small number of named administrators. Security-relevant events (authentication, role changes, admin actions) are recorded for review.
